Port of Coatzacoalcos increases the agricultural bulk cargo


Until August, the port has operated 433,126 tons of agricultural bulk, representing a growth of 11.9% over the previous year. Products handled during this period are: corn, dry distilled grain (DDG), sorghum, soybean, wheat, sugar and rice.

Part of this growth was the result of intensive trade promotion activity. By this promotion, now the company Gavilon de Mexico will move its cargo in the port; this storage will function as a distribution center for small producers in the area. Multiver of Coatzacoalcos is now the maneuvering in this project, having operated through August, 22,719 tons of wheat bran and DDG at this part of the project.

It is important to mention Bachoco and its subsidiary, Campi, one of our major customers, who ranks as the main company in the movement of agricultural bulk; Bachoco has operated until August this year, 7 shipments, which carried 196,870 tons, equivalent to 46% of total agricultural bulk operated in the port.

Moreover, our client ADM Mexico, the main user of Transferencias Graneleras del Istmo, has operated in the period 4 shipping, importing 89,388 tons of corn, soybean, wheat, rice and DDG.

Another important activity is the reactivation of domestic cargo operations by the company Comercializadora Columbia, who in August of this year received 2 shipments of white corn from Topolobampo, Sinaloa, for a total of 32,800 tons.

With achievements like this, the Port of Coatzacoalcos, Mexico’s Bulk Leader, is becoming one of the most important in the National Port System.
