Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec participates with ASIPONA Coatzacoalcos in the Expo T-IDEA 26

February 19, 2026.
Within the framework of T-IDEA 26—organized by the Employers' Confederation of the Mexican Republic (COPARMEX Tabasco) from February 18 to 20 at the Tabasco 2000 Convention Center in the state capital—the event features the participation of business leaders, entrepreneurs, and key strategic players.
Among these is the Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec (CIIT), represented by the National Port System Administrations (ASIPONA) of Dos Bocas, Chiapas, Salina Cruz, and Coatzacoalcos, as well as the Isthmus of Tehuantepec Railroad (FIT).
L.C. Adrián Lara Márquez, Commercial Manager of ASIPONA Coatzacoalcos, stated in a media interview:
"As a comprehensive project, the CIIT offers benefits and facilities for investors and producers to move their cargo via the FIT from the Pacific Ocean (Puerto Chiapas, Port of Salina Cruz) to the Atlantic Ocean (Port of Dos Bocas, Port of Coatzacoalcos). In the case of Coatzacoalcos, this includes cargo destined for the East Coast of the U.S., which is one of the world's leading consumers of products."
Infrastructure Updates:
-
Line Z: Currently operational, connecting Coatzacoalcos with Salina Cruz.
-
Line K: Currently running from Oaxaca to Chiapas, reaching Tonalá.
-
Expansion: Work is underway on the section from Tonalá to Puerto Chiapas and Ciudad Hidalgo, which will provide a direct connection.
-
Tabasco & Mayan Train: Tabasco is already linked via the line connecting to the Mayan Train through Palenque.
-
Dos Bocas Project: Work is progressing this year on a line starting from Roberto Ayala to connect to the Port of Dos Bocas. The federal official indicated that completion is expected by the end of this year or early 2027.
Expo T-IDEA 26 serves as an innovation forum that fosters alliances, triggers business opportunities, and drives regional economic growth, while seeking to boost the competitiveness of large-scale projects and investments.
