Puerto Coatzacoalcos implements actions regarding the National Quarantine fence

The Integral Port Administration of Coatzacoalcos, S.A. de C.V., reinforces actions for health care and thus avoid the spread of respiratory diseases such as COVID-19.



The entity since the beginning of the health contingency, on its social media platforms, has published and shared various messages from the Government of the Republic and the Ministry of Health with the aim of spreading preventive indications among its followers and the general population to avoid the spread of the virus, such as:

• Stay home when you have respiratory ailments and go to the doctor if any of the symptoms appear (fever higher than 38 ° C, headache, sore throat, runny nose, cough, etc.)
• Avoid hand salutation, cheek bone, hugging.
• Wash your hands frequently with soap and water or use 70% alcohol-based gel.
• When coughing or sneezing, use the label sneeze, which consists of covering the nose and mouth with a disposable tissue or with the internal corner of the arm.
• Do not touch your face, nose, mouth and eyes with dirty hands.
• Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects of common use in: home, closed places, meeting centers, offices, schools, etc.
• Use of face masks if necessary.

As for the port areas of Coatzacoalcos and Laguna de Pajaritos, in just one day 2,800 people enter approximately; Authorities, Assignees, Service Providers, Transporters and the general public, with the purpose of carrying out different activities that promote port development.

Therefore, API Coatzacoalcos through the Operations Management during the last weekend, issued the instructions to consider for the personnel in the different access control points, which are listed below:



• Keep a visual expectation pending for any user of the port who presents evident signs of illness.

• Take the temperature to the person, placing the digital infrared thermometer at 10 cm. from the forehead. Ask the person if they have the following symptoms: fever, cough, malaise, and respiratory distress. Record in a special log the result of the temperature, name, address, contact telephone number and area where the person works.

• If the result of body temperature is 38 degrees or more, ask the following questions:

1. Have you traveled in the 14 days prior to the appearance of symptoms to one of the countries or states of the country with cases of COVID-19?

2. Have you visited health centers in any of the country's states with cases of COVID-19 in the 14 days prior to the appearance of symptoms?

3. Have you had close physical contact in the 14 days prior to the onset of symptoms with a person who is a suspected case of COVID-19 or whom you believe may be suspicious?

If any of the previous questions is affirmative; deliver a face mask to the person and invite them to await the presence of International Health personnel.

It is reported that the Captaincy of the Port and International Health, have applied the established protocols to the ships that arrive at the port from different parts of the world and at the moment report without incident.

Trying to avoid numerous groups of people and that they become a possible focus of contagion, we inform you that from today to April 20 of this year, the Coatzacoalcos Bicentennial Park closes its doors to visitors, in addition the guided visits to the Coatzacoalcos port area are suspended.
