Puerto Coatzacoalcos promotes its immediate future in the Third State Tourism Meeting

The Administration Portuaria Integral de Coatzacoalcos, S.A. de C.V., participates in the Third State Tourism Meeting, organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture of the State of Veracruz, to be held on February 21 and 22 in this city and port.

Within the framework of this meeting, the Secretary of Tourism of Tabasco and SECTUR Veracruz signed a collaboration agreement on tourism promotion, with the presence of CIIT, H. City Hall of Coatzacoalcos, H. State Congress, INAH Veracruz, followed Together they toured the exhibition halls to observe tourist services, gastronomic and cultural offers.

As part of the program of the first day of activities; The Federal Authority by the CIIT, Mr. Rafael Marín Mollinedo presented the conference “Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec” in which he explained the guiding principles that are: competitiveness, inclusion, involvement and participation, co-responsibility, equity, efficiency, sustainability and productivity.

He commented that the new development model should strengthen the foundations of the social economy, guarantee fair economic growth, permanently improve the well-being of the population, as well as the preservation of identity, pride of belonging and local culture.

Marín Mollinedo explained that the Program for the development of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, is a key piece for the growth of one of the poorest areas of the country, the project includes; expansion, modernization and improvement of the ports of Salina Cruz and Coatzacoalcos, these will be favored with ten poles of development for well-being, two of them in Coatzacoalcos, Ferrocarril del Istmo de Tehuantepec, will have maintenance and construction of new sections, roads and airports will have to come up with a powerful vision. The program would also develop productive activities, infrastructure and basic services, free zone, participation and support of state and municipal governments, fiscal and non-fiscal incentives among others.

The State Tourism Meeting, is consolidated as the most important event of its kind, for this reason API Coatzacoalcos through its Port Community set up an interactive stand in which it announced business strategies, development of port infrastructure and plans of expansion in its port enclosures.

It also promotes Coatzacoalcos Bicentennial Park, which improves its conditions due to the continuity that this new administration has carried out with maintenance and modernization programs for infrastructure, spaces and equipment; with the purpose of providing a free quality service and offering educational recreation options to the surrounding population, as well as to the more than 500,000 national and foreign visitors who attend the place since its inauguration in December 2010.

The park is located in the Villa de Allende, Ver., In an area of 1.7 hectares, where the culture of caring for nature is promoted, through the Environmental Management Unit “API Ecological Park” and the lighthouse museum “ Lucio Gallardo and Pavón ”, the first 26 species inhabit between mammals and birds, highlighting: two white bengal tigers, an African leopard, royal toucans, moreletti crocodiles, spider monkeys, parrots among others, most of them in danger of extinction It also has an extensive variety of flora such as: samia, ceiba, ahuehuete, xolotixochitl, sequoia and fruit trees, the second is made up of 5 thematic rooms where visitors know more about the evolution of navigation since ancient times.
