Yesterday at about 07: 00hrs, was conducted a simulation as part of the local contingency plan to combat and control oil spills and other harmful substances at sea, by the Secretary of the Navy with the support of Pemex Municipal Civil Protection and Fisheries Cooperatives.
The exercise simulated the breakdown of 48-inch pipeline leading crude Nuevo Teapa, Veracruz, to Salina Cruz, Oaxaca; spilling 5,000 barrels of oil a tributary of the Tepeyac creek, which flows into the Coatzacoalcos river.
API Coatzacoalcos participated as support and offered the facilities to the Civil Association Limbo Environmental Commitment, through a group of young people who make up the brigade altruistic care for wildlife, install the dock before 5 of the Port of Coatzacoalcos, a point Reception of affected wildlife and conducted practices help in case of a possible accident.
