The Port of Coatzacoalcos in order to make known the specific soil characteristics, degree of deforestation and inclinations and dependent prolongations of the banks of the Coatzacoalcos river, presented in recent days the Integral Study of Erosion, Sediment Contribution, Silt and Risks hydrometeorological in Coatzacoalcos River Basin.

The study lasted two years, was presented to Environmental Authorities and Council Members Coatzacoalcos River Basin, the presentation was given by Alexandro Medina Chena MSC, representing the Highly Specialized Studies Unit of the Institute of Ecology ( INECOL ) and Eng. Carlos Bravo Soto, Assistant Ecology Port Authority of Coatzacoalcos, S.A. de C.V.

Because of the contribution of current scientific information, this document represents for this entity an excellent opportunity to learn inter alia, the areas of greatest generation of various sediments, thereby reducing the volume of dredging carried out as part of the maintenance navigation channel and harbor waterfront areas.

Thus, the Port of Coatzacoalcos, Mexico's leader in bulk cargo, supports the development of this methodology to studies in other basins of the country.
