Mexico's traditions, present in the Port of Coatzacoalcos

Puerto de Coatzacoalcos, a la vanguardia en señalamiento marítimoThe Port Authority of Coatzacoalcos, preserves our traditions and celebrates the Day of the Dead, for this, the Administration and Finance through the area of Human Resources mounted the altar-offering.

The altar is a ritual offering respectful to the memory of the dead, its purpose is to attract their spirits, and is giving for those returning that day to live with relatives or loved ones, food and favorite objects them in life, to return to enjoy during his brief visit. The levels of the altar represent those that the soul must cross to get to rest or peace of spirit. In the offering or altar of the dead, should not be missed the arch of flowers symbolizing cempasúchitl be the gateway to the world of the dead, various aromatic elements that symbolize the cleansing of the soul, and the representation of the four primary elements of nature: fire is the guide of the soul, water to quench the thirst of the spirit, earth related to the principle of Christian ideology "You are dust and to dust you" (Genesis 3.19), and wind with confetti or paper chains in yellow and purple to represent the duality between life and death.

The altar of dead is complemented with flowers, colorful sugar skulls, food and traditional fruits, pan de muerto that has a couple of strips of bark that represent a pair of bones, and ornaments alluding to the death of Mexican folk art emerged.

The main theme of our offering is dedicated to our colleague Miguel Antonio Rosales Rivers (RIP) a tireless advocate for the merrymaking and respect for these old traditions.
