The Port Authority of Coatzacoalcos invests 27 MDP in protection works

With an investment of 27 million pesos, Coatzacoalcos Port Authority will start the reconstruction works of the nose and body of the breakwater.
Maintenance work will begin on August 15 and will conclude on March 2012. The company responsible for maintenance is Obras Portuarias de Coatzacoalcos, S.A. de C.V. (OPC), who won the contract through national competitive bidding 09183002-004-11.
The work is to strengthen the perimeter of the nose with igneous rock with a volume of 10 to 30 tons, plus 400 meters from the main body of the pier side of the river that are eroded as a result of the intense storms that have lashed the coast Veracruz.
This will ensure that the next season of rains and hurricanes, to keep protected input and output for boats , keeping a depth of 39 feet in the navigation channel to provide the necessary conditions for marine traffic.
