From the port of Coatzacoalcos, Mexico continues supporting Haiti
All companies that make up the community of Port of Coatzacoalcos, coordinated by the Navy Department, have worked hard to fulfill the mission to send to Haiti, humanitarian aid collected in our country, as a support after the strong earthquake occurred in the January.
In the cellars of the Port Authority all aid offered through various agencies has been stored, companies like “Cemex” and “Oxiteno” have supported platforms, “Compania Maritima Mexicana” provided weighing trucks free of charge, Canacar trucks assigned to transport donated items and of course the support “Multiver and Sociedad Cooperativa de Estibadores” who performed the maneuvers needed to accommodate the load.
Thanks to the joint work on 5 March, and as part of an official event chaired by Navy personnel in Mexico, Local Authorities and Port, the “Zapoteco”ship sailed from Coatzacoalcos to make his second trip on a humanitarian mission, carrying 160 tons of products such as tents, water tanks for water, medicines and healing, bottled water, construction materials and equipment for the Haitian people. The Navy ship “Zapoteco” is a hospital ship that is part of the fleet of auxiliary vessels of the Navy of Mexico, and allows the aid of people in disaster because it has a surgery room equipped with two teams for major surgery, dentistry , traumatology and x-rays and a ward with a capacity of 25 beds. Carry a medical brigade consisting of a general surgeon, a pediatrician, an orthopedist, a radiographer, an anesthesiologist, a dental surgeon and two nurses.
We wish the good ship and sea Zapotec successfully fulfill its humanitarian mission!
