Strategic location, adequate infrastructure and great potential for the installation of new projects were the comments from the group of federal deputies who visited the port areas of Coatzacoalcos and Laguna de Pajaritos, this about the Presidential initiative Special Economic Zones (SEZs)

Installed in the boardroom of API Coatzacoalcos, the Director General Dr. Ovidio Noval Nicolau, presented to lawmakers, comparative and competitive Coatzacoalcos advantages, its wide area of influence, as well as terminals and facilities with which account, he reported the projects are carried out in both port facilities and ancillary works. He referred to this area as an economic trigger for all the south-southeast, because with only 302 kilometers of roads and railways linking the Gulf of Mexico to the Pacific Ocean, which would mean the installation of an important region cluster.

SEZs, aims to transform the highly productive regions preferably Guerrero, Oaxaca, Michoacan, Veracruz and Chiapas through the establishment of rules of trade and investment, operating under three main areas: a special customs environment, investment in infrastructure and finally, a series of tax incentives along with a favorable administrative environment.

Puerto Coatzacoalcos, Mexico's Leader in total cargo, is identified within specific vocations of this invaluable opportunity, which would allow it to consolidate as a significant link in the production chain in the country.
