ASIPONA Coatzacoalcos shows competitive advantages at important foreign trade event

ASIPONAf Coatzacoalcos participated today in the Veracruz Logistics Forum: "The Heart of the Interoceanic Corridor." The event was held in the city and port of Coatzacoalcos and organized by COMCE Veracruz.

The presidium included: Mr. Ernesto Pérez Astorga, Secretary of Economic and Port Development of the Government of Veracruz; Vice Admiral Martín Zepeda Anguiano, Director General of the Administration of the Coatzacoalcos National Port System; Ms. Ingrid Jeny Calderón Domínguez, Representative for Coatzacoalcos with the Permanent Commission of the Interoceanic Corridor; Ms. Alejandra García Velázquez, General Coordinator of Commercial Development of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec Interoceanic Corridor (CIIT); and Mr. Gerardo Cárdenas Hernández, President of the Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade, Investment, and Technology (COMCE).
Vice Admiral Martín Zepeda Anguiano, Director General of the Administration of the Coatzacoalcos National Port System, held the conference "Logistics Opportunities through the Port of Coatzacoalcos," highlighting the port's importance in Mexico's foreign trade.

During his presentation, he mentioned the weekly container route and the efficient Ferrobuques service, unique in the national port system, connecting the Port of Coatzacoalcos with Port Mobile, Al. Coatzacoalcos' strategic location and multimodal connectivity allow for maritime, rail, and land interconnections with various regions of the country and international destinations, consolidating it as a key hub for global logistics.
Zepeda Anguiano highlighted the port's infrastructure, including 32 berths between the Coatzacoalcos and Laguna de Pajaritos ports, as well as warehouses with 55,000 square meters of storage capacity. He highlighted the port's role in national cargo movement, handling more than 27 million tons in 2024, equivalent to 10.16% of the country's total.
Among the ongoing and future projects are the modernization of the Coatzacoalcos Customs Office, the UNAPROP building, the expansion of rail yards, and the construction of new specialized terminals, among others. Thus, the Port of Coatzacoalcos is constantly working to attract investment and new projects, the latter aligned with those of the Federal Government.
